Pair of Walnut and Leather Side Chairs by Gio Ponti, Italy, 1950s

A pair of Italian side chairs by Gio Ponti, from to the 1950s mid-century period in walnut with restored in a beautiful tan leather upholstery with nailhead trim. The design is characterized by its lightly curved backrest, tapered legs and carefully drawn frame. The proportions give the chairs a light refined presence while maintaining excellent usability.

The warm tone of the walnut is complemented by the leather upholstery, finished with nailhead detailing to both the back and seat.
Versatile in scale and line, the pair works well as side chairs, desk chairs, or occasional seating. Carefully sourced in Italy and restored in-house at our gallery in Rabat.
