An Italian sofa by Osvaldo Borsani, dating to the early 1950s, distinguished by its winged back, slender tapered legs, and remarkably balanced silhouette. The line is restrained yet highly expressive, with softly curved arms flowing into a broad backrest that gives the piece both presence and lightness. Raised on black tapered legs finished with brass sabots, the sofa has the poised, architectural quality associated with Borsani’s work in this period.
Recently restored and reupholstered in a two-tone velvet composition, the sofa pairs a soft ivory interior with a pale grey exterior, a combination that emphasizes the shape while bringing depth and contrast to the design. Carefully sourced in Italy and restored at our gallery in Rabat by our in-house team, it reflects our approach to vintage furniture: thoughtful sourcing, measured restoration, and close attention to line, finish, and comfort. A refined and highly usable example of early Italian modern seating.
